Mirror

Whispering Wind
On the wall, a recollection, while outside the winter snow smoothed the edges of a harsh land. They wore masks, the excitement of an impossible mystery, a nostalgic gathering of times past. Carnival thrills and fears, a daring touch beyond the expected. They danced all night, two strangers who could have not been closer, closer than lifelong friends. The anonymity coated their peace wrapping their inhibitions, opening thresholds of boldness they would’ve never have dared cross. A caress turned into a mirrored dance of soft shadows reflected on the walls. The masks would always remind her of that remarkable night.
