Ennui

Mare Serenitatis

Lost thoughts were scattered through time as she sat in the throne room waiting. Patience is a virtue, they said. Outside the day came to an end, and the night’s gloom invaded her will. That was the moment of all decisions, and those unleashed thoughts slowly mapped her tomorrow, for better or for worse.

  1. Sounds like a journey through my own thoughts. Introspection is good even if you don't have all the options you would like.

  2. Indeed. When I write something like this as a result of a bit of soul-searching, I fear the text could become too... hermetic, too personal, driving people away from it saying "huh??!". But then I recall what a professor back in college said. As soon as the writer finishes writing it, the text has a life of its own and each reader opens a different path for it to thread.
